Two WHOLE days!!!!.........

My kids were angels.  Well.....except for the occasional "butt" comments from Kohl.  We left on Friday morning for Knight's checkup in Denver.  First we had to stop in OG at the chiro so I could get adjusted.  Before we went in I gave the kids the what for in the car about sitting there quietly while I got worked on.  I mean let's face it.  If you know the little red head you all know that when he gets around anyone besides Wade and I he completely loses it.  He shows off.  And that's usually in the form of saying things that he probably shouldn't.  And completely embarassing me.  :)  He was great though which made me wonder what the hell he was trying to get me to do for him.

Next stop.  Denver.  Again, we went to Knight's hour long appt. and neither of them whined or complained that we weren't done yet.  Knight let them take his blood like a trooper and we were on our way.  I was doing a happy dance because his seizures are under control now and he doesn't have to go back for 6 months.  The kids were excited because we could now head to Grandma's in Fort Collins.

We went swimming at the rec center, visited a train museum and went to a Barnes & Noble without any major meltdowns.  I always say a little prayer before going in a large store.  It usually includes the following, "Lord please let me get through this shopping experience without the store throwing us out or calling the cops for a major disturbance."  :)  But again, NOTHING.  Well, unless you count Kohl getting super sad when we left cause he thought Grandma had bought him a Spongebob book and we both thought he didn't want the Spongebob book.  Needless to say, Grandma went back in and got the book and everything was great again.

I went shopping at the outlets and discovered I have a major problem.  All I want to buy is running gear.  It's sad really.  My wardrobe right now consists of shorts, dri fit anything, and running shoes.  Running shoes that I have 5 pair of right now but have 2 favorites so should really sell those "extra" 3 pair.  But I got some really great deals at Nike and Under Armour that I should have couldn't pass up!!

Decided to leave early Sunday morning to head home because we all know how kids are after you've been gone for a weekend and then they have to go back to school on Monday.  GROUCHY!!  It only took about 2 hours of traveling for the MONSTERS to return to my life.  I got a good 2 days out of them though so that's a good start!!  We had a great little getaway and now I could use a getaway with myself.  :)  Or maybe a drink.

And the award goes toooo................

ME!!! I did it. I finally feel like maybe I could win that Mother Of The Year award.  You know, the one I have failed miserably at for 8 years so far.  I'm really feeling like the last 2 days have earned me that title.  I'm sure I'll do something to f%@& that up soon enough, but for now I'm celebrating my ass off.  I painted Knight's room like I promised him and I do have to say.  It's freakin awesome.  I really love it so much I contemplated painting the whole damn thing camo.  I mean really.  What else do I have to do with my days.  Right??  Wrong!!  It's pretty bad ass though.  If Knight doesn't like it then I'm going to sleep here.  :)  I love it.  I got the tank for the wall.  Thought it was going to be bigger but it works.  The helicopter for his ceiling should be here soon!  I had a ton of fun doing this project.  And if he doesn't like it, I'm selling him.  :) ...

Whoooop Whooop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........

Today marks a great day in 2011!!!  College football bowl games start!  I LOVE college football.  I LOVE the Huskers!!!!!!!  But I also love watching random teams that I know nothing about.  Doesn't matter where they are from or what their story is.  I just love watching football.  So, from now until the first week in January, I can pretty much watch football any given day!  It's awesome!!! Last year we went to every home Husker game.  Love it there.  The atmosphere is great, walking amongst the drunken tailgaters is hilarious, and the general excitement in the stadium is electrifying.  We've taken the kids to 2 games so far.  I'm not going to lie.  It's exhausting.  First, it's quite a walk to the stadium.  So, as you can imagine, eventually the 5 year old wants someone to carry him.  He's not a small kid.  In fact, he weighs as much as the 7 year old.  He's solid as a brick shit house and com...

Remembering..........

Today's blog is gonna be a little different.  Cause today would have been DaNelle's 34th birthday.  Here's a pic of DaNelle, myself, and both my sisters. (Obviously when we were in high school.)  We grew up with her, were college roommates, and the greatest of friends.  3 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  A year later, she passed away.  While the special dates still make me sad, and I'll never understand why someone so great was taken so early in life, I now find myself thinking about the great memories made with her.  In no particular order, here are a few things I will never forget. Swimming in the tank out at her grandma's house with the goldfish, then hanging out in the basement sneaking whiskey.  :) Her infectious smile and laugh.   Her stories!!  She called me every morning around 10:00 and we'd talk till the guys came in for lunch at noon.  I miss those phone calls! Playing foosball at the high ...
